In this time of extreme division our leaders should be working to unite us and lead us to a vision of a brighter tomorrow. Instead, our elected officials and media only want to feed a dangerous fire and talk about personalities instead of policies. I look at my children and wonder, what will they think of all of us when they are our leaders? Will they forgive us for creating an economy that works for big corporations and banks but not for most hard-working Americans in small businesses, farms, and factories? Will they look past the fact that we have created a society that values insults over civility? Will they understand that we decided to sacrifice education, healthcare, fiscal responsibility, and our infrastructure while ignoring the middle class? Will they look at us with wonder as they saw us abdicate our global responsibilities of being that shining city on the hill?
These are the questions I think about and use as the basis to this campaign. My career in government included working with members of both parties to implement and evaluate programs across the federal government. I did my best to help the missions of the various agencies I worked with, including the Veterans Administration, the Department of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, the Departments of State and Defense, and federal law enforcement agencies, to name a few. I also built on my political science and economics background by obtaining a Master’s in Global Policy Studies and pursuing a PhD in Public Policy. These educational and professional experiences helped me understand how to best serve the needs of middle and west Tennessee.
I am a devoted husband and father, a small business owner, an active community member and advocate for Tennesseans. I am experienced in how government works but a political outsider. I’m running for Congress to make all our goals a reality and believe that my vision for the 7th district will help bring families of all types into the next generation of success and accomplishment. Together, we can move forward as a family, and help each other achieve our dreams
